‘Boo at the Zoo’, ‘Night of the Living Zoo’ return to National Zoo this October

Fall is almost here, which means it’s about time for the Smithsonian’s National Zoo to get spooky for Halloween.

The zoo’s two after-hours Halloween events begin in October. Tickets are on sale now through the National Zoo website.

Boo at the Zoo

Boo at the Zoo runs Oct. 16 through Oct. 18 from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Visitors of all ages are encouraged to wear Halloween costumes and enjoy trick-or-treating at more than 25 treat stations, themed entertainment, photo opportunities, a commemorative tote bag, special food available for purchase and access to indoor exhibits.

National Zoo members receive early entry from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Night of the Living Zoo

The adult-only event will be held Oct. 23 from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.

It is open to guests 21 and older and features “wickedly good libations” at eight bars, circus acts, zoo exhibits, D.C.-area bands, DJs, face painting and more.

Tickets are $63.75 for zoo members and $75 for nonmembers.
