Honda is giving the Civic lineup a little more breathing room for 2027 with the addition of a new Sport-L trim, aimed squarely at buyers who want more comfort and premium features without stepping all the way up to a hybrid. Positioned between the gas-powered Sport and the Sport Hybrid, the new Civic Sport-L borrows several upscale touches that were previously reserved for the more expensive hybrid models while keeping the sedan’s total suggested retail price just under $30,000.
The biggest upgrades are found inside. The 2027 Civic Sport-L gets leather upholstery, heated front seats, power-adjustable front seats, and dual-zone automatic climate control. Honda also adds a passenger-side seatback pocket, illuminated vanity mirrors, and silver-colored interior trim borrowed from the Sport Touring Hybrid. None of those changes reinvent the Civic, but together they make the Sport-L feel noticeably more polished than the regular Sport.

Under the hood, the Sport-L sticks with Honda’s naturally aspirated 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine rather than the more powerful hybrid system. Output remains at 150 horsepower and 133 lb-ft of torque, paired with a continuously variable transmission. That means buyers are primarily paying for added comfort and cabin equipment rather than extra performance. EPA fuel economy for the Sport-L sedan is rated at 31 mpg city, 39 mpg highway, and 34 mpg combined.

Pricing is where the new trim makes its strongest case. The 2027 Civic Sport-L sedan carries an MSRP of $28,495, or $29,790 including the $1,295 destination charge. The hatchback starts at $29,695 before destination and lands at $30,990 with destination included. That puts the Sport-L sedan just below the $30,000 line while still giving buyers many of the comfort features they would otherwise have to move into a hybrid model to get.

Elsewhere, the 2027 Civic lineup stays largely familiar. The LX sedan now starts at $26,290 including destination, while the Sport sedan comes in at $28,290. The Sport Hybrid sedan starts at $30,990, and the Sport Touring Hybrid rises to $33,990. One notable update for the Sport Touring Hybrid is the addition of Honda’s S+ Shift system, which simulates traditional gear changes and adds a little more involvement to the hybrid driving experience.
