Who says a luxury crossover has to play by the usual rules? Acura is having a little fun with its newest entry-level SUV, teaming up with professional BMX rider and motorsports enthusiast Coco Zurita to create something that looks more at home at a custom car show than in a dealership showroom. The result is the 2026 Acura ADX CZ-77 Concept, a one-of-a-kind build inspired by Vans sneakers, BMX culture, and Zurita’s personal passion for modified cars. Unveiled on October 23, 2026, the custom ADX is scheduled to make its public debut at Vans headquarters in Costa Mesa, California, on October 24. It’s a creative collaboration that brings together three very different worlds, and we have to admit that Acura’s compact SUV makes a surprisingly good canvas for this kind of customization.
The exterior is where the CZ-77 Concept makes its biggest statement, thanks to an aggressive combination of custom carbon-fiber components and motorsports-inspired styling. The front end features a carbon-fiber lip and splitter, while matching side skirts, extended fender flares, and a revised rear diffuser give the ADX a much wider and more planted appearance. A set of 19-inch Rotiform wheels with aerodynamic discs wrapped in Yokohama ADVAN Sport V105 tires completes the transformation. Acura also fitted a custom exhaust system and distinctive graphics inspired by Zurita’s limited-edition Vans sneaker collection. Perhaps the most unusual addition is the purpose-built rear structure designed to carry and display a BMX bicycle. Rather than hiding the bike inside the SUV, the design makes it part of the vehicle’s overall personality, which is a pretty fitting touch considering who helped create it.

Inside, the Vans influence becomes even more apparent. According to Acura’s official announcement, approximately 90% of the fabric used throughout the custom interior was supplied by Vans North America, incorporating materials similar to those found in the company’s performance skateboarding and BMX footwear. The standard ADX seats have been replaced with aggressive Sparco bucket seats, while a Sparco steering wheel, custom center console, and NRG harness bar reinforce the motorsports theme. Acura also removed the rear seats, turning the compact luxury crossover into a more focused two-seat machine. Special CZ-77 graphics and unique upholstery treatments tie everything together, giving the cabin an appearance that feels genuinely connected to Zurita’s personality rather than simply serving as another promotional exercise with a few logos scattered around.

For those unfamiliar with Coco Zurita, the Chilean-born BMX athlete has spent years establishing himself as one of the sport’s most accomplished competitors, participating in more than a dozen X Games events and earning multiple podium finishes. He’s also a serious automotive enthusiast with experience in drifting and time attack competition, which makes his connection with Acura more meaningful than the typical celebrity collaboration. Zurita previously worked with the automaker on a customized 2023 Acura Integra that debuted at the 2022 SEMA Show, followed by a modified 2024 Acura TLX Type S revealed at the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach. The new ADX CZ-77 Concept marks his third custom Acura project and celebrates both his 20-year relationship with Vans and the footwear company’s 60th anniversary. His matching limited-edition Vans shoes will also launch on October 24, adding another interesting element to the collaboration.

We think the Acura ADX CZ-77 Concept is a refreshing example of how a relatively affordable luxury crossover can be transformed into something genuinely exciting with a little creativity. The standard ADX has already been attracting younger buyers to Acura, and projects like this could help the brand strengthen its connection with enthusiasts who appreciate automotive customization and street culture. Of course, this is strictly a one-off concept rather than a production model, and Acura hasn’t announced any plans to offer the carbon-fiber body kit or Vans-inspired interior through dealerships. Still, we’d love to see the company take a few styling cues from this build and offer more aggressive appearance packages for its smaller vehicles. There’s something appealing about a compact SUV that doesn’t take itself too seriously, especially one with genuine motorsports influences and a custom BMX rack hanging off the back. Acura may have created the CZ-77 Concept primarily to celebrate a unique partnership, but it’s also a reminder that even practical crossovers can have plenty of personality when the right people get involved.
