2 dead in Montgomery County wrong-way crash

Two people are dead and another person is injured after a head-on crash that happened on the Interstate 270 Spur in Bethesda, Maryland, Saturday night.

Maryland State Police said it happened just after 6:45 p.m. in the southbound lanes of the I-270 Spur, just past Democracy Boulevard.

State police said a Toyota sedan was traveling south when it encountered a Ford Mustang heading the wrong way, before the head-on collision.

Two people in the Toyota were transported to hospitals, where they were pronounced dead. The driver of the Mustang was transported to a hospital. His condition wasn’t released by authorities.

An investigation into the deadly crash closed the roadway for over three hours.
