Blood Cancer United, formerly The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), is the global leader in the fight against blood cancer. Our name is an evolution, not a new beginning, that will help us meet our bold goal: to enable patients with blood cancer to gain more than one million years of life by 2040. With the name Blood Cancer United, we can reach more people who need us: people affected by all 100+ types of blood cancer. Our mission is not changing. And we will continue to be a global leader in blood cancer—research, support, and advocacy.
September marks Blood Cancer Awareness Month, providing an opportunity to remind the public about the urgent need to support research to fight this deadly disease — a disease that is diagnosed every three minutes in the U.S. and has no current means of prevention.
Childhood Cancer Awareness Month is also observed during September.
While many children survive leukemia, it is the most common type of pediatric cancer.
Blood Cancer United’s Dare To Dream project is the next phase of our Children’s Initiative. We recognize kids are different and their blood cancers need to be treated differently too.
Dare To Dream expands from families impacted by blood cancers to global research and treatment focused on children including the Blood Cancer United PedAL Master Clinical Treatment, more access to free education, support, financial assistance, and advocacy.
Better treatment and care for kids is achievable, and Blood Cancer United is helping make that dream come true.
The Blood Cancer United Information Specialists are master’s level oncology professionals who provide free, personalized assistance to patients, families and healthcare providers.
Our Clinical Trial Nurse Navigators are registered nurses with expertise in blood cancers who conduct comprehensive clinical trial searches and personally assist patients, parents and caregivers. And our registered dietitian has expertise in oncology, providing free nutrition consultations.
Contact us for one-on-one support at (800) 955-4572, Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. ET, or by live chat/email on BLOODCANCERUNITED.ORG.
So, will you join us in providing more birthdays? More milestones? More life for blood cancer patients?
Join us for Light The Night to bring light to the darkness of cancer. You won’t want to miss this family friendly event where we raise our lanterns high in support, honor, and memory of those who have been impacted by blood cancer.
