There will be some changes to Metro’s rail service during Labor Day weekend.

Metro said it will be operating on Saturday from 6 a.m. to 2 a.m., and on Sunday and Labor Day from 6 a.m. to midnight.

The Green Line will not operate between the Greenbelt and Hyattsville Crossing stations on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, but there will be free shuttles to replace the trains every eight to 10 minutes.

The Greenbelt and College Park-U of Md. stations will be closed.

Metro said it will be making improvements to the Green Line, which include “signaling processor system upgrades to the Greenbelt interlocking framework to improve the customer experience,” and “exterior vegetation maintenance and clearing.”

The Yellow Line trains will only be operating from Huntington to Mt. Vernon Square.

Metro said Orange, Silver and Blue lines will not be impacted.

The Red Line will not be operating between North Bethesda and Friendship Heights, but free shuttles will be replacing the trains during the summer shutdown for construction. The Red Line’s last day of construction will be on Sept. 6.
