Teachers union, Montgomery County schools battle over collective bargaining agreement

    Amid collective bargaining agreement negotiations between Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) and the Montgomery County Education Association (MCEA), the teachers’ union has pushed back against proposals from the school district, arguing that their offer was “unacceptable,” according to MCEA President David Stein.  

    “We understand that bargaining is tough, but it requires a sincere exchange of meaningful proposals between both parties,” Stein said in a Thursday statement to Bethesda Today. “MCPS’s bargaining proposals last night were unacceptable.”
