The remnants of Isaias is leaving the D.C. region drenched Sunday, with forecasters warning of heavy showers, thunderstorms and gusty winds.
The National Weather Service described the winds as being potentially “damaging” as gusts were expected to measure up to 30 mph. Rainfall totals could range from around 1 to 2 inches.
As of 3:50 p.m., the latest numbers released by the BGE power utility show that more than 3,300 residents are without electricity, with the majority of outages reported in Baltimore, with Anne Arundel and Baltimore counties rounding out the top three impacted areas.

7News meteorologist Mark Peña said the rain “could cause some minor instances of flash flooding of creeks, streams and low-water crossings.”
Those headed to the Washington Commanders’ home game at Northwest Stadium in Landover, Maryland, “want to make sure you’re packing the rain gear because that’s when the rain could be heaviest at times,” Peña said.
The chance for thunderstorms develops in the evening and could cause downed trees and power outages. Forecasters say a severe thunderstorm or possible tornado warnings could be issued after 4 p.m.
“A couple of brief tornadoes are possible this afternoon to evening, mainly east of the Blue Ridge and Catoctin Mountains,” reads the latest NWS advisory.
Although rain is expected to linger into Indigenous Peoples Day and Columbus Day Monday, chances of heavy rain decrease throughout the morning and lead to periods of clouds and sunshine in the afternoon. Temperatures rise from the low to mid-70s.
Sunshine will be back for the middle of the week as temperatures will be in the 70s on Tuesday and Wednesday.
