The North Bethesda, Maryland-based company said it had profit of $1.28 per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs and asset impairment costs, came to $2.33 per share.

The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $2.27 per share.

The hotel franchiser posted revenue of $458.3 million in the period, also topping Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $455.3 million.

Choice Hotels expects full-year earnings in the range of $6.92 to $7.07 per share.
